Ford Motor considering announcing a deal with Microsoft in January for the software that use the technology of the business in some of its cars, said Friday the Wall Street Journal citing people familiar with the deal.

Ford and MicrosoftEl Strategy system, to be called “Sync,” includes a wireless Bluetooth handsfree and an operating system that could be an option for the entire Ford brand, the Journal said.

Sync is designed to enable hands-free mobile communication and other wireless information transfers in the car, including email and music downloads, the sources told WSJ.

The system will debut next year as an option on at least two Ford brand models, the Focus sedan and 500, said a person familiar with the matter to the financial daily. The newspaper also said the system could be an option for all production Ford, including trucks starting in 2008.

The study car company to announce Sync Car Fair in Detroit and the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas during the week of Jan. 10, and Chris Elliott spokesman told the WSJ that the company has been working with Ford in some technologies and to be an ad in these fairs, but declined to elaborate.
